Closet Staple Roundup

Ok, I know I am not the only one that has mounds of clothes sitting in their closet, and literally gets caught wearing the exact same thing every single day. LOL! I honestly did not realize this, until Jake and I were cleaning out my closet and packing boxes (for the upcoming move). He kept saying, “Katy…. what the heck…. I have literally never seen any of these clothes on you!”… and he takes all my photos, so the man knows what I wear. I realized then that I should probably try and fix that! lol!

I started to pull out everything that I really love, would purchase in multiple colors, buy multiple incase they get worn down.. that kinda thing! I put them all in the front of my closet, and I am forcing myself to gravitate to at least one of them once a week for the next year! They are all great closet staples, and I am honestly not sure why I haven’t worn them much. My leggings and tee’s just always end up in my hand first! lol! I went to link them all for you guys (or I should say, make sure the links were still active), and realized that I purchased a lot of the items during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Which made sense…. I get a lot of my staples from Nordstrom! It is all great quality… all my favorite staple brands like, Spanx, Free People, BP, Zella, and a million more that I could name off! So, since the majority of my favorite closet staples can be found at Nordstrom, I wanted to round them up and show you guys here! A good dress, good denim, great basic tee, comfy sandals, a good bad, some great stud earrings…. ya know, the items above- all my go to closet staples that I will be making sure to use in 2019!

Thank you Nordstrom for sponsoring this post, as always, all things were picked out and purchased by me and my own opinions.

Ohmygosh….I needed this. Thank God I’m not the only one. I literally had 3 boxes in my room to start going through my clothes this weekend. I was so overwhelmed that I pushed them off the bed and binge watched terrible reality television!

Love your style and your page. I also have tons of clothes I never where. I started years ago with putting all my hangers on the rack backwards and when I put an item back on the rack the hanger goes the right direction. I try to pick items what I haven’t worn by looking at the direction of the hanger. At the end of the year I go thru and any item that is not hung correctly I really question why I haven’t worn it in a year – most times it gets taken out of my closet and donated. Keep on keeping on.

Marie Kondo! If you really love all of your stuff don’t watch her show lol. But, if you are looking to downsize your closet she has some great tips! She inspired me to go through my closet and drawers and get rid of anything that didn’t bring me joy lol and I felt so good after I did it!

Girl, I am so glad I’m not the only one. I have so many clothes I don’t wear. It’s insane! Hahaha! But, I can’t get rid of them.?

Just some food for thought. I actually read this tip somewhere and now I can’t remember where. Hang all your close a certain direction on the hanger and once you have worn/used hang the other way. It’s pretty simple just remember which way to hang them! After a year or so you can easily see what items you have worn and what items you need to go through and consider donating.
