All About My Hair Extensions

I DO NOT USE AMAZON HAIR ANYMORE!!!!! AFTER 3ISH MONTHS IT BECAME VERY DRY AND A LOT OF BREAKAGE!!! AGAIN, I NO LONGER USE AMAZON HAIR!!!!! I GET MY EXTENSIONS FROM MY HAIR DRESSER, HOLLY. THEY ARE FROM AN OVERSEAS DISTRIBUTOR.

IF YOU ARE NOT FROM THE DALLAS AREA, YOU WILL NEED TO TALK TO YOUR LOCAL HAIR SALON AND USE THIER HAIR. IF YOU ARE IN THE DALLAS AREA, YOU CAN SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION WITH HOLLY AND SHE CAN ORDER YOUR HAIR FOR YOU!!

ALSO, JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER… I KNOW YOU GIRLS ARE SO GREAT AND SO RESPECTFUL, AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE SHARING MY PROVIDERS WITH YOU GUYS BECAUSE I KNOW YOU WILL LOVE THEM AS MUCH AS ME! PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BE CAUTIOUS OF THIER SCHEDULE, AND LET THEM KNOW IN PLENTY OF TIME IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT.

ALSO, I HAVE HAD EXTENSIONS FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW- I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER HAD PEICES FALL OUT THAT HAVE FULL CLUMPS OF MY NATURAL HAIR IN THEM. EVER. YOU WILL HAVE PIECES FALL OUT. QUITE A BIT. IT IS NATURAL. THEY ARE NOT PERMEANT. I HAVE MULTIPLE STRANDS FALL OUT AT ONCE, OR A COUPLE A WEEK. IT IS TOTALLY FINE. YOU START THE PROCESS WITH 200 GRAMS. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THAT NO ONE, I REPEAT NO ONE NOTICES. I AM ON STORIES 24/7 AND SOMETIMES I HAVE A FULL 200 GRAMS IN MY HAIR, AND SOMETIMES I AM TOWARDS THE END AND HAVE ONLY 120-150 GRAMS IN MY HAIR- NO ONE CAN EVER TELL. IT IS OKAY TO HAVE THEM FALL OUT. IF THEY ARE FALLING OUT WITH YOUR FULL STRAND OF HAIR STILL ATTACHED, YOU ARE BEING WAY WAY WAY TOO ROUGH ON YOUR HAIR. TRUST ME. LIKE I SAID, I HAVE HAD THEM FOR A YEAR AND HAVE NEVER HAD MY FULL STRAND OF HAIR FULL OUT. REMEMBER TO BE GENTIL AND TAKE CARE OF THEM. MY NATURAL HAIR HAS SINCE GROWN AND IS MUCH HEALTHIER. IT DOES NOT RUIN YOUR HAIR IF YOU PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF THEM, BRUSH THEM MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY, AND BE VERY GENTILE WHILE BRUSHING THEM.

As you all know, or if you are new around here- I got micro bead extensions! & by the look of my DM’s, you guys want alllll the info! I don’t blame you, I am obsessed! I figured the easiest way to write this post would be by breaking it down into questions I have been asked by all of you!

First, before getting to all the details, I want give you guys Holly’s contact info:

Name: Holly Whiteside (Griffith)

Instagram Handle: @hairbyhollyg_

Location: 2827 Market Center Dr, Rockwall TX

Below are the extensions I ordered- click the picture to shop!

Questions #1- What kind of extensions did you get and how are they put in? (READ AREA ABOVE- I NO LONGER USE AMAZON HAIR!!!!)

I got micro bead extensions! Not the normal kind though. My hair dresser and I decided to go a different route and I am SO happy she suggested it! You are not going to believe where we got my extensions from…… AMAZON!! Yeah, thats right- Amazon! Holly (my hair dresser), is super good at what she does and I trusted her to pick out the best kind for me! She did just that! They are completely real human hair and to be honest, look a lot better than the majority of extensions I have seen lately! She obviously knows the color of my hair, because she has been doing it for years, so she was able to pick out the perfect shade for me! Once I ordered them, I brought them to her and she was able to make them ‘micro bread ready’! Micro bead extensions are put in piece by piece and attached to the root of your hair by a little bead. No glue are tape or sewing required!

Question #2- How much did it cost?

The price is obviously different depending on how thick your hair is, length, color, etc! I can say though, it is WAY cheaper than getting the other styles of micro bead extensions! Since the hair is purchased from Amazon, its still amazing quality, but a lot cheaper than what you would get if you went to a salon and they ordered the hair! To get an actual cost, you would have to set up a consultation with Holly so she can determine how much hair is needed, what color you should get and any other factors that may sway the cost.

Questions #3- How do you take care of them?

So, since I am new to this whole thing, I am not going to go into crazy detail about this. Once you talk with Holly or your hair dresser, they will give you better tips! But, BRUSH THEM ALL THE TIME!! That is my biggest piece of advise. They can get tangled really easily at the scalp so it is important to brush them as much as possible, even at the root! Also, it is best to wash them as little as possible. I have had mine for almost a week and have still not washed them- to be honest, they don’t get very greasy.. and I have so many that it doesn’t even look like my hair is greasy! SCORE!! When you do wash them, wash them like you would your regular hair. As for sleeping, some people say to braid them or wear a silk shower cap to bed- I have not had any issues so far but I also don’t get crazy bed head.. so that could be why!

Question #4- How long do they last?

I think it depends on how well you take care of them. I will go and get this set moved up every 6 weeks. & like I said, I think it is largely dependent on how well you take care of them! I would say the hair it self probably last about a year, and then I would go ahead and order more hair.

Question #5- Did it hurt/do they hurt?

Mmmm, yes and no! I wouldn’t say that they HURT but they are most certainly not a walk in the park! lol. I have had back headaches my whole life, so obviously I get headaches every easily… I had one for the first two days or so but it wasn’t too bad. Now that is gone, and it is just an annoyance really. It is like anything else, you have to get used to them. They say it takes about 2 weeks to get used to them. I am almost finished with my first week and they are already so much better than the first couple of days!

Question #6- How do yours match your hair so well and how long are they?

Mine match so well because Holly was able to pick a pair that was so close to my color! Thats why a consultation is so important! When the extensions arrived, they were a little yellow, but we toned them just like we do with my regular hair and they matched perfect! Also, I got the 22 inch extensions and Holly trimmed them a little bit to look more natural!

Also, just a reminder- everyones hair s different.. what works for me, may not work for you.. the quality I like and what works for me, may not be what you like! I think it is best to go in for a consultation and speak with your hair dresser about specifics for your hair!
